A Conversation with Founder & President Nehemie Joseph
1- Question:
Nehemie, why did you choose to create a foundation focused on helping children in Haiti?
Answer:
I chose this mission because I realized that my voice may be able to go farther than the voices of many children and families living in need.
Many of these children do not have the opportunity to speak for themselves, to be heard, or to access the help they deserve. So I decided to offer myself, my time, my energy, and my voice to search for opportunities, support, and hope on their behalf.
If today I am not in their position, I consider that a grace from God. And I believe that when God blesses us, we should become a blessing to others.
As the Bible says:
“Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed.”
— Proverbs 19:17
This mission is not only about helping children survive — it is about helping them believe that their future still matters.
2- Question:
What hurts you the most when you look at the situation of some children in Haiti?
Answer:
What hurts me the most is knowing that many children are born with dreams and potential, but poverty often limits their opportunities before they even have the chance to grow.
Sometimes a child is not asking for luxury — only a chance:
- to eat
- to learn
- to feel safe
- and to believe their life matters
No child should feel forgotten.
3- Question:
Do you believe one person can truly make a difference?
Answer:
Absolutely.
One person may not change the entire world overnight, but one act of compassion can completely change the world of one child.
Sometimes hope begins with one person deciding not to ignore someone else’s pain.
4- Question:
What motivates you to continue this mission even when challenges come?
Answer:
The smiles of the children, their courage, and their desire to learn give me strength to continue.
Even during difficult moments, I remind myself that giving up would mean abandoning children who still believe in a better future.
Faith, compassion, and purpose continue to push me forward.
5- Question:
If someone reading this wants to help, what would you tell them?
Answer:
Do not underestimate the power of your support.
A donation may provide:
- food for a child
- school materials
- a classroom opportunity
- or simply hope for a family in need
Every contribution matters, no matter the size.
6- Question:
What is your dream for these children?
Answer:
My dream is that one day these children will no longer be defined by poverty, struggle, or limitations.
I want them to become:
- teachers
- doctors
- pastors
- leaders
- entrepreneurs
- and positive examples for future generations
I want them to know that their lives have value and that their future is worth fighting for.
7- Question:
How does faith influence this mission?
Answer:
Faith reminds me that helping others is not just a choice — it is a responsibility.
I believe God blesses us so we can become a blessing to others, especially to those who are vulnerable and in need.
This mission is built on compassion, service, and love for people.
VERY IMPORTANT
Special Message
Today in Haiti, many families are forced to flee their homes because of violence and insecurity happening in Port-au-Prince and nearby areas.
Leogane has become one of the places where many families seek refuge when they are running from danger, fear, and instability. When these families arrive, they often come with almost nothing. They need food, support, protection, encouragement, and people willing to receive them with compassion.
What touches my heart the most is the situation of the children.
Even though their parents escaped danger and reached a safer area, suffering still follows many of them. Poverty continues to cover their daily lives. Many parents struggle to survive and cannot afford school, food, uniforms, or basic necessities for their children.
But these children still deserve:
- education
- food
- protection
- love
- and hope for a better future
Children should not lose their future because of poverty or instability.
They still need to go to school.
They still need to eat.
They still need opportunities to grow, dream, and believe their lives matter.
I do not have unlimited resources or great financial power, but I decided to do everything possible to build this foundation so I can search for support, opportunities, and hope for children and families in need.
I truly believe there are people around the world whom God has blessed financially and spiritually for a greater purpose. Sometimes changing someone’s life begins with one act of compassion.
Today, I humbly ask:
Please let us put our hearts together to support children and families in need.
A meal may save a child from hunger.
A donation may keep a child in school.
A helping hand may restore hope to a family that has lost almost everything.
Together, we can become the answer to someone’s prayer. ❤️🙏
Your support can help provide food, education, and hope for children and families in Haiti.
